| At 0510 hours on Saturday morning, Company 5 was alerted for the boat mutual aid to Company 6 for an open water rescue. Reports were of a barge that struck a sail boat in the Potomac River in the area of Ragged Point. MSU 5 and Boat 5 responded and launched from St. Clement's Bay. Boat 6 arrived and located a sail boat that had been struck by the barge and had two occupants on board. They were both checked out by EMS and signed refusals. Boat 6 transported one patient back to shore and Boat 5 towed the stranded sail boat back to Tall Timbers Marina. Once the boat was back to shore command was terminated and Department of Natural Resources and Coast Guard took over the scene. |
