By Fire Chief J.A. Nelson
October 6, 2012

On Thursday evening and Friday morning crews assisted Company 2 with coverage during the funeral for Past Chief Billy Simpson. During the fill in on Friday night, units were dispatched to Three Notch Road in front of Burger King for a motor vehicle accident. Squad 5 and Engine 24 arrived and found a vehicle that had rolled with four patients. Three of the patients were transported to St. Mary's Hospital and the fourth was flown by Trooper 7 to Prince George's Hospital.

On Friday while Engine 51 was covering along with Calvert Squad 7, Rescue Box 2-23 was alerted for a motor vehicle accident at Budds Creek Road in the area of Potomac Speedway. While responding additional information was received that the accident was in Charles County at Trinity Church Road. Units continued to respond and arrived to find a tractor trailer versus a pickup truck. EMS requested a helicopter for the patient in the pickup. Engine 51 handled the landing site at Potomac Speedway while Calvert Squad 7 assisted at the scene.

Units: Engine 51, Squad 5
