Saturday afternoon, while members were setting up for an event at the station, Companies 5, 59 and 19 were alerted for the reported auto accident with injuries on Oakley Road in the area of Hodges Road in Avenue. Squad 5 and Engine 54 responded just after dispatch and arrived to find a single vehicle that had left the roadway and was in the ditch. There was one occupant who was advising she was uninjured however was unable to remove herself from the vehicle. The Squad crew began stabilizing the vehicle and securing the scene while the engine crew began assesing the patient. The driver was removed without incident and Engine 54 obtained a signed refusal placing all EMS in service. Units operated for just over 20 minutes before returning to quarters.
