Friday evening we hosted the annual Community Christmas Party and Tree Lighting. Doors opened at 5:00 p.m. and the community was welcomed. Guests were given tickets for food and beverages, fire trucks rides and games for all the kids. While waiting for Santa to arrive, there were several games and activities along with fire truck rides that were provided by us and other allied departments. At 5:30 p.m. Santa arrived in a parade of apparatus and was welcomed excitedly by all the kids that had been waiting. Rides continued and Santa spent some time with the kids until 7:00 p.m. when the doors were opened and with Santa's help we lit the community tree. Santa continued seeing all the kids and then at the end of the night we had the annual raffle of childrens toys. The evening concluded and was a huge success with an outpouring of support and acclaim from the public. The Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank our allied agencies and companies that assisted in the weeks leading up to our event. They include the Seventh District Optimist Club, the Seventh District Rescue Squad and Auxiliary, the American Legion Post 221 and Auxiliary, St. Clements Island Museum and our own Auxiliary who were all a huge support. If you have pictures from the event we would love to see them. You can send them to our facebook page or mail@sdvfd5.com.
