| On Saturday December 7, 2013 the annual installation of officers was held at Holy Angels Hall in Avenue. The evening began with the instllation of the 2014 officers for the department by Southern Maryland Vice President George Hayden and the State Ladies Auxiliary President Carol Hayden.
After the new officers were sworn in, the guests enjoyed a meal prepared by Bailey's Catering. Once dinner was over the memorial ceremony and awards were presented. This year, Auxiliary members Bobbie McWilliams and LaRuby Frederick were honored in the memorial service. Their families were each presented a shadow box with their pins earned in the auxiliary.
The awards were given out with several members receiving awards for their accomplishments throughout the year. The awards list is as follows.
Auxiliary Person of the Year - Kitty Hill
40 Years of Service - Steve Gibson, Sr.
Top Responder - T.J. Faunce
Top Driver - Kim Mason
Top Training - Susan Burch
Rookie of the Year - Susan Burch
Southern Maryland News Net Award- Justin Hall
Firefighter of the Year - Ryan Clark
Several appreciation awards and certificates were presented during the ceremony to our allied agencies and community supporters. The department was also presented a check from the 7th District Optimist Club for assisting them throughout the year.
Once the awards were given out members enjoyed music by the Franklin Square Band.
