April 11, 2014

On Friday afternoon at 1505 hours, Company 5 was alerted mutual aide to Mechanicsville at 37359 Newland Street in Country Lakes for a brush fire. Units from Station 2 and Charles Station 2 were already on scene with a woods fire that had extended to a small shed to the rear of the residence. Tanker 5, Engine 54 and Brush 5A responded. Upon arrival, crews deployed an attack line from the Tanker and assisted with overhaul to the shed. Units operated at this scene for approximately 40 minutes.

After clearing the scene, another brush fire was alerted in the area of 37711 Frischoltz Court. Tanker 5 and Engine 54 were still in the area from the first call and were added to the call. Both units arrived on scene to find a small brush fire to the rear of a garage. The fire had started to ignite the fence and caused an exposure hazard to several vehicles and fuel drums near residence. Engine 54 pulled an attack line and extinguished the fire. Units returned to service from both calls at 1715 hours.

Units: Engine 54, Tanker 5, Brush 5A

Mutual Aid: Jeep 2, Brush 2, Charles Engine 24, Brush 1, Engine 74 and Tanker 2
