On February 12, 2026 at 10:20 a.m. a building fire was dispatched on Big Chestnut Road in Leonardtown. Engine 52 was leaving St. Mary's Hospital after picking up a crew member who had assisted the EMS crew on a subject not breathing. Engine 52 arrived first at the scene dropping a supply line at Big Chestnut Road and the entrance to the lumber facility complex. Upon arrival at the scene they located a large dry storage building fully involved. Engine 52 stretched two lines to the front of the building and started an attack on the fire. Once additional crews arrived other lines were placed in service. A brush fire task force was also requested due to a brush fire behind the building. Multiple crews operated at the scene containing the fire. Engine 52 operated for approximately three hours before returning to quarters. Chief 1A held the command.
