| Members took a chance Monday night to take a group picture in front of Engine 53 before it makes it's way to Palo Pinto, Texas to find a new home. Members from Palo Pinto traveled to the station and conducted an inspection on Engine 53. After meeting with their membership they elected to purchase the unit.
Engine 53 was the second pumper/tanker the department had in its fleet. It was a 1980 Sanford and the original cost was $135,000. This was the last unit in the department where the members were able to ride tail board to incidents until the bar was taken off the back in the late 90's.
We will miss Engine 53 but hope that it finds a great new home in the big state of Texas.
Below are some of the photos of Engine 53 over the years. |
