On Saturday afternoon Stations 5, 22 and 59 were alerted to a water rescue in the Wicomico River off Pond Point Lane. Reports were of a boat overturned with subjects in the water. Chief 5 arrived on the scene and located an upright boat with several subjects still in the water.
Chief 5 made contact with the subjects and they were able to make it into the shore line. Boat 5 arrived and was able to get the water out of the boat and tow it back to Chaptico Wharf. The three subjects were brought up on land and refused medical treatment.
All three subjects were placed in Squad 5 and taken back to their vehicle at Chaptico. The Department of Natural Resources responded to take a report of the accident.
Units returned to quarters within 90 minutes.
