Early Tuesday morning, UTV 5 was dispatched to assist with a high angle rescue off Poplar Hill Creek Lane in Leonardtown. Multiple personnel from Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, Pax River and Second District utilized ladders and rigging equipment to remove a hunter who was trapped hanging upside down from a tree stand after it malfunctioned. The hunter was approximately 1/4 of a mile off the roadway in the woods. Once the hunter was removed from the tree, they were evaluated by EMS and UTV 5 transported them out of the woods to an awaiting ambulance.
